Kidney & Urinary Health

किडनी और मूत्र रोग

The kidneys quietly clean your blood every day, so protect them. Ayurveda traditionally supports urinary health with water, light food and certain herbs. Because kidney problems can be serious and some herbs are unsafe when kidney function is low, we always ask for your reports and encourage you to stay under a doctor's care.

Concerns we guide you on

Every person is different. Tell us what you are facing and we will explain what may help.

Kidney stones

Hard deposits that cause sharp pain in the back or side, nausea and burning urine.

Ayurvedic approach: Plenty of water, kulthi (horse gram) water and traditional herbs, after a scan confirms the size of the stone.

Burning urination & UTI

Burning, urgency, cloudy or foul-smelling urine, and sometimes fever or lower abdominal pain.

Ayurvedic approach: Water, coconut water and cooling foods. An infection needs a urine test and medical treatment.

Frequent urination

Passing urine many times, especially at night. May relate to sugar, prostate or infection.

Ayurvedic approach: Find the cause, reduce tea and caffeine at night, and get sugar and prostate checked.

High creatinine & kidney function

Raised creatinine means reduced kidney filtering. This must be monitored by a nephrologist.

Ayurvedic approach: Kidney-safe diet guidance only with your doctor's approval. Avoid unsupervised herbs and painkillers.

Swelling of feet or face

Fluid retention can come from kidney, heart, liver or thyroid problems.

Ayurvedic approach: Get tests first. Low-salt food and rest support care once the cause is known.

Prostate enlargement (men)

Weak urine flow, dribbling, getting up at night and a feeling of incomplete emptying.

Ayurvedic approach: Medical check, less caffeine and spicy food, and traditional herbs such as gokhru for urinary comfort.

Kidney & Urinary Health: frequently asked questions

Can kidney stones be dissolved with herbs?

Small stones may pass with plenty of water and medical guidance. Large stones, severe pain or blocked urine need a doctor. A scan tells which approach is right.

Is Ayurvedic medicine safe for kidney patients?

Not always. Some herbs and products can harm the kidneys, especially when creatinine is high. Share your reports and always involve your nephrologist.

How much water should I drink for stones?

Many people are advised to drink enough to pass about 2 to 2.5 litres of urine a day, but heart and kidney patients may have limits. Ask your doctor.

What causes burning urine?

Common causes are UTI, dehydration and stones. A urine test is the right first step.
