Fatty liver
Extra fat builds up in liver cells, often with weight gain, sugary and fried food and low activity. It is usually silent early on.
Ayurvedic approach: Weight loss, a lighter diet, daily movement and traditional liver herbs. Read the full fatty liver guide.
Raised liver enzymes (SGOT/SGPT)
Blood tests may show high enzymes because of fatty liver, infection, medicines or alcohol. The cause has to be found first.
Ayurvedic approach: Get the cause checked by a doctor, then support with light food, bitter vegetables and plenty of water.
Jaundice recovery support
Yellow eyes or skin need an urgent medical check. After treatment, the liver needs gentle, easy-to-digest food.
Ayurvedic approach: Simple home-cooked meals, no oily or spicy food, and rest, along with your doctor's advice.
Acidity & GERD
Burning in the chest or throat, sour belching and a heavy stomach after meals.
Ayurvedic approach: Regular meal timing, less spice and fried food, cooling foods, and digestive herbs such as saunf and amla.
Gas & bloating
A swollen, tight stomach with trapped gas, often from fast eating, cold drinks or heavy dinners.
Ayurvedic approach: Warm water, ajwain and jeera water, slower eating and a light early dinner.
Constipation
Hard stools, straining or going less often than usual, which can lead to piles.
Ayurvedic approach: Fibre-rich food, enough water, a regular toilet routine and gentle herbs like triphala.
Piles (bawaseer)
Swollen veins near the anus causing pain, itching or bleeding, often linked to constipation.
Ayurvedic approach: Soft-stool diet and sitz baths. Any bleeding must be examined by a doctor first.
IBS & loose motions
Cramps, urgency and unsettled stools that flare up with stress or certain foods.
Ayurvedic approach: Simple food, buttermilk, avoiding trigger foods and calming digestive herbs.
Poor appetite
Feeling full quickly, no hunger, or a heavy tongue and tiredness.
Ayurvedic approach: Light spicy-warm foods in small portions, ginger before meals and a regular daily routine.
